Kentucky continues to rank near the bottom in national health system performance, coming in at 37th out of 51 in The Commonwealth Fund’s latest scorecard on state health system performance. Too many Kentuckians still die from preventable causes, struggle with untreated chronic conditions, and face barriers to mental health, addiction, and dental care.

Our own 2024 survey of Kentuckians echoes this reality: even those with insurance often skip care due to cost. With looming Medicaid cuts set for 2027, Kentucky risks losing up to 35 hospitals. Our August newsletter explores these challenges and how TAI is working toward a system that guarantees health care coverage for all.
