New analysis from the Commonwealth Fund shows that the cost of employer-sponsored coverage extends beyond monthly premiums. While workers contribute a share of their income toward premiums, total costs increase significantly when deductibles and other out-of-pocket expenses are included. In many cases, these combined costs take up a growing share of household income, raising concerns about affordability even for those who have coverage.
